Full squad for Liverpool – Weekend preview

Friday, October 14th, 2011

Kenny Dalglish will be able to pick from a fully fit squad this weekend for the big Premiership clash between Liverpool and Manchester United.

Liverpool have been hit hard with defensive injuries over the past couple of weeks with Johnson struggling since the start of the season and Kelly and Agger in and out of the team with injuries of their own. Fabio Aurelio will also be available for the weekends game and could be set to take his place on the bench after an impressive start to the season by fellow left back and new signing Jose Enrique.

Another positive note is that Gerrard looks ready to return to the starting line-up after 8 months out of the team plagued by his long term groin injury.

The main decisions for Kenny Dalglish will be who gets the nod at the right back spot with promising youngsters Martin Kelly, John Flananagan and established England international Glen Johnson all vying for a place in the team. The other two spots to consider will be at centre back with Daniel Agger possibly returning to the starting 11 as well as re-shuffle in the middle of the park to accommodate Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

It has been a busy week of Internationals and travelling for some of the Liverpool stars such as Dirk Kuyt and Luis Suarez who both scored on International duty for their respected countries. They will both be looking for a place in the team as well as Andy Carroll after his first goal of the season in the Merseyside Derby nearly two weeks ago.
